Bobcat
Felis rufus
Trail Tidbits
Bobcats are very common in Georgia and most of the United States.
They get their name for their short, or "bobbed" tail.
They have excellent camouflage and sometimes will wait in low tree branches to pounce on prey such as white-tailed deer.
Bobcats feed on rabbit, ground dwelling birds, mice, squirrels and deer.
